33 years ago we paid tribute to Freddie Mercury

A “For Life” concert was held at London’s Wembley stadium in tribute to the late Queen singer, who died in November 1991, and to raise awareness of the AIDS virus that sadly claimed Mercury’s life.

A number of world-renowned artists took part in the event, including Elton John, Roger Daltrey, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), David Bowie, Mick Ronson, James Hetfield, George Michael, Seal, Paul Young, Annie Lennox, Lisa Stansfield, Joe Elliott and Phil Collen from Def Leppard, as well as Axl Rose and Slash from Guns N” Roses.
